ABOUT MARK CHOSAK:
Mark Chosak, a native of Los Angeles, has enjoyed a diverse career in the audio industry - beginning with a formal music education at UCLA and The Grove School Of Music; leading to his work as a composer and sound designer for a variety of media companies. He has composed soundtracks and created sound design for film, television, video games and more recently internet-related audio design for high-end websites and online games.
As the in-house audio-director for Visual Concepts in San Rafael, CA, Mark handled all audio content and design for almost every game in development. His duties included working daily with programmers and graphic artists to integrate high-quality audio content into each project, often co-developing proprietary sound tools and implementation schemes. As the games were being published by leaders in the industry, such as Electronic Arts' Madden NFL, NHL Hockey and other titles, Mark was deeply involved in all phases of audio development for console and PC platforms.
More recently, Mark worked in-house for Blitz Agency - a top internet advertising agency for film companies, Fortune 500 companies and game developers, where he created original music and sound design for many award-winning websites and online games. Currently he is busy composing music for several popular tv shows, working on various recording projects, and enjoying a little Steely Dan on the side.

ORIGINAL MUSIC
Music created specifically to fit the style and mood of your film, tv show, game, jingle or website. My first concern is to suit the creative and style needs of my clients. Beyond that, I strive to create music that is thematic, in order to create a unique identity and mood for your project.
Having composed music for over 30 years, I have covered almost every imaginable style for such media formats as: film, television, video-game (Console, Windows, Macintosh, Online, Handheld and other game media); web-site design including MP3 and Flash preparation; interactive music-design, artist-development, CD soundtrack recording, and commercial video.
All styles and instrumentation of music (live orchestras of all sizes, sampled / synthesized instruments, combinations of the two). I have an extensive virtual instrument library with 1,000's of instrument sounds. See the "Sound Design Services" section for more details about available software and instruments.
SOUND DESIGN
Great sound design is not simply the process of selecting sound effects from various sound libraries. It requires an ability to conceptualize what type of sound a visual element would produce; then the 'art' of creating unique sounds comes into play - through the process of field recording, sample-editing and manipulation with effects and multiple sound element balancing.
Based on years of experience as both a composer and sound designer, I have found that a trained ear is a valuable asset - both in the process of sound creation, and in the mixing stage - when sound effects must work in harmony with music to create a final soundtrack that enhances the drama of the visual experience. I have worked with software engineers to create highly interactive sound design for games, using proprietary 3D sound-placement techniques to put the gamer right in the middle of the action. I have also developed 'signature' sounds for company 'image' and logos and 'Flash'-based sound design and implementation for web content and online games.
For maximum flexibility, I use both Mac and PC platforms with such audio applications as: Pro Tools, Cubase, Bias Peak, Sound Forge, plug-ins and virtual instruments by Waves, Spectrasonics, Native Instruments, Steinberg, Focusrite, IK Multimedia, Toontrack, Synthogy and others.
